Resources:
Software: Zemax EE optical design program (maintained
since version 1.46), Solid-Edge and SolidWorks solid modeling CAD programs,
Femap with NX Nastran FEA program, KeyCreator wireframe CAD program, Rhino
surfaces CAD program.
Optics
Prototype Production and Testing: A well equipped prototype optical shop, which
includes diamond generators and saws, four Strasbaugh polishers (8” to 26”), a
16” aspheric polisher, Zygo, Fizeau and LUPI laser interferometers, an 8” off
axis SORL collimator, a 16” Davidson Optronics lens bench, optical flats to 26”
diameter, Hindle spheres, surface inspection microscopes, a K&E alignment
telescope, Block Head air bearing spindles (to 12”) and two 12” Ultradex
indexing tables.
Machining,
Testing and Assembly: A well
equipped machine shop, which includes SurfCam, toolroom lathes, milling
machines, Parker Majestic 2Z precision surface grinders, saws, MIG and TIG
welders, rotary tables (to 20” diameter and one arc-second resolution), granite
surface plates, 12” Heightmaster, and Heidenhain inspection equipment.
